NW and NE craters inactive, strong glow from central crater where a small lava pond has formed. Central vent and a small eruption from the W vent of NE crater. The glowing central vent, about 20 m in diameter, where the magma column is near the rim of the crater illuminating it with a suggestive yellow-red glow.

Impressions from Stromboli's craters. NW crater erupts very rarely and very weakly (left picture), about 1 eruption/hour, bombs don't reach the crater rim. The central vent is obviously filled with magma and emits small spatter. Ca. every 1/2 hour, the NE crater erupts weakly (middle picture), this time from its E vent.
